Camooweal

Ah the Camooweal Billabong, a gorgeous little oasis free camp spot. We stayed a few days and just loved all the abundant bird life, beautiful water lillies, a short half day trip to the Camooweal Caves, mud to play in and some swimming. Great spot to relax for a few days after a long drive.


saying goodbye to our new friends as they continue their journey, maybe we meet again some day.

Little Roper Stock Camp

What a way to relax, situated in Mataranka, not far from the beautiful natural thermal pools, is the little roper stock camp, we initially booked in for 3 nights but ended up staying over a week. Des's curry nights, camp oven dinners and of course his famous Jonny cakes each morning were a highlight, the animals and hay bales kept the kids entertained for hours. Elsie the cow coming to join us for breakfast.  Jonny cakes were a big hit, not the healthiest breaky, but well loved.  Squirrel glider feeding.  The last day at little roper the boys wrote letters for their school.
