Let the journey begin
In 2021 our family decided to sell everything we owned and travel Australia in a caravan. After our home in Broome became very empty and void of worldly possessions the day of picking up our caravan drew nearer.
The day of leaving Broome finally came! After weeks of exhaustion of selling and giving away things, cleaning, preparing, finishing off jobs around the house ready for it to be sold. We said all our goodbyes to family and friends, a very bleek sadness. An unpredictable future I don't think we were quite ready to leave. However, we set off on our first part of our adventure, 4 kids, a small trailer of essential living items, and a whole lot of love, faith and trust in tow.
Taking the back roads from Broome to Perth through the Pilbara heat wave. Roadtrains, oversized mine trucks, dirt roads, and the many "I've gotta pee" stops.
Finally made it to the big smoke! The excitement of picking up our new caravan was soon met with a little disappointment, they built our caravan wrong! 2 bunks instead of 3. We didn't have much choice but to take it and love it, so we did.
Picking up our new home.
After a crazy exhausting few months, we decided to enjoy a little holiday and go to Adventure world, Scietech, and the Zoo. And then leaving the big smoke to spend some time down the south west, Albany and further inland with friends and family.
We travelled back up north for a few weeks of work back in Broome, it ended up being another 3 months in Broome, enough time to see all the lovely rain of the wet season.
Then in March 2022 we said goodbye to Broome, our home. Life has taken some strange turns in the last couple of years, ones we never would of seen coming! Turns that have brought sadness, grief, anger, joy, happiness, love, kindness, peace and more, all in a very short time, but also they have brought us to exactly where we are meant to be. The goodbyes to family and friends of old and new again, a strange bleek sadness but this time it was mixed with a sigh of relief and joy that our next chapter to life has really begun. Will we find our new home to settle in on our travels? Will we come back? or will we just travel in our new forever home? God only knows, and in Him we trust to open and close doors. Let the journey begin!
